He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hess and Julia Hess (Colpert); and his brother Dan Hess. He is survived by: his children, Kerry Hess (Edie) of Fort Pierce, FL, Shelly Smith (Dan) of Decatur and Scott Hess (Cheryl) of Decatur; and his brother Paul Hess (Marlene) of Decatur. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
