With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Russell Cain of Decatur, Indiana, born in Des Arc, Arkansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 24, 2025 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Sue Anderson (Pinkerton); his daughter Jessica Cain; and his brother William Cain. He is survived by: his children, David Cain of Decatur, Indiana, Heather Kurz (Volker) of Oakland and Heaven Mowbray of Winamac, Indiana; his siblings, Daniel Cain of Wauconda, Christopher Cain (Linda) of Boulder, Douglas Cain of Boulder, Colorado and Carolyn Howard (Glenn) of Roanoke, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Thomas Kurz, Nolan Kurz, Nikki Mowbray and Frankie Mowbray.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Eagle Creek Cemetery Northwest Corner (S 700 E, Ober, IN 46534).
His contributions to his family, community, and country will be remembered and honored.
