He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Geels and Gertrude Geels (Baker). He is survived by: his wife Janice Geels of Decatur; and his children, Michael Geels (Kristine) of Monroe, IN, Christopher Geels (Joyce) of Monroe, IN, Laurie Grote (Eugene) of Decatur, IN, Leann Granell (Gary) of Tennessee, Erica Dieden (Mark) of Illinois, Melissa Blazek (James) of Illinois and Matthew Geels (Angela) of Missouri. He is also survived by 2 sisters; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or St. Joseph Catholic School.
