He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Wass and Valera Wass (Hart); his siblings, Roy Wass, Dee Brian Wass, Sheryl Wass, Louise Hammond (Jerry) and Shirley Frey (Keith); his brothers-in-law, Leo Busick and Larry Ternet; and his great grandchild Ramsey Kay Wass.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. Smith; his children, Allen Wass (Tina) of Decatur, Indiana, Michael Wass (Anita) of Goshen, Indiana and Paula Girod (Bradley) of Decatur, Indiana; his siblings, Jane Busick of Woodburn, Indiana, Jean Ternet of Monroeville, Indiana, Loretta Waymire (Jim) of Florida, Dean Wass (Cindy) of Monroeville, Indiana, Duane Wass (Kathy) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Steve Wass of Monroeville, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Hollie Till, Brandon Wass, Jacob Girod, Brittany Long, Dee Girod, Chantel Budreau, Thomas Girod, Isaac Girod, Timothy Girod, Breanna Wass and Aidan Wass. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the East Liberty Church (21215 Barkley Rd, Monroeville, IN 46773).
Preferred memorials can be given to East Liberty Church.
