He was predeceased by: his father James L. Geels; and his wife Joyce Ann Ogg. He is survived by: his mother Janice Geels (Titus) of Decatur; his children, Daniel "Danny" Dowler (Alyssa) of Decatur, Mariah "Riah" (Trevor Hawkins) of Highlands Ranch, CO and Victoria "Tory" Anderson (Tristan) of Decatur; his grandsons, Levi Dowler and Teddy Hawkins; and his siblings, Michael Geels (Kristine) of Monroe, IN, Laurie Grote (Eugene) of Decatur, IN, Leann Granell (Gary) of Tennessee, Erica Dieden (Mark) of Illinois, Melissa Blazek (James) of Illinois and Matthew Geels (Angela) of Missouri.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home (225 Adams St, Decatur, IN 46733). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Preferred memorials are to Wounded Warrior Project or Adams County Cancer Coalition.
