He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Meyer and Ina Mae Meyer (Rabbitt); his son Bruce Daniel Meyer; his former wife Josephine Z. Sprunger; his son David W. Meyer; and his siblings, Robert H., Richard C. Meyer and Mary M. Earhart (Noble).
He is survived by: his former wife Lois Anne Eady; his wife Helen J. Meyer (Mowery) of Decatur; his stepchildren, Mark Myers (Heidi) of Woodstock, GA, Ned Myers of Decatur and Dianna Neukom (Wayne) of Ft. Wayne; and his grandchildren, Paul Myers (Jaci), Joe Neukom (Alicia), Sam Neukom (Alexandra), Matt Neukom, Olivia Myers, Brooke Myers and Gwen Myers. He is also survived by 3 great granddaughters.
Preferred memorials are to American Legion Post 43.
