He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Maudie Grace Gummere; and his siblings, Viginia Hasselbring of Jasper, IN, Mary Rodgers of Danville, John Gummere (Willy) of Danville, Bob Gummere of Hoopeston and Joe Gummere of Danville.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Shade; his children, Timothy J. Gummere (Tammy Anderson), Ernest W. "Bub" Gummere (Crystal) and Grace E. Judd (Hank); and his grandchildren, Tiffany Becker (Lance), Joey Gummere, Morgan Hausey (Brandon), Weston Judd and Luke Judd. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
