He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Buchanan and Ruth Buchanan (Elmore); his wife Rowena Buchanan; and his siblings, Rosalie Neel and Raymond Buchanan Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Roger Buchanan (PhD) of Quitman, AR, Sara Buchanan-MacLean (MM) of Louisville, KY, Faith Hobbs of Raymore, MO, David Buchanan (MD) of Chicago, IL, Cinda Weiss of Greenville, IL, Beth Thorpe of Danville, IN, Mark Buchanan of Worcester, MA, Mary Cornell, Rebecca Grodkiewicz of Florence, SC and Jonathan Buchanan of Hortense, GA.. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great, great granddaughters.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the West Bridge Church (1521 S County Rd 75 W, Danville, IN 46122). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Danville South Cemetery (515 S Cross St, Danville, IN 46122).
