He was predeceased by: his father Roy Mitchell; and his siblings, Virgil Mitchell, Everett Mitchell, Anna Marie Mitchell Earle, William Mitchell, Doris Mitchell Suttles, Larry Mitchell, Judy Mitchell and Robert Mitchell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tamela Mitchell of Danville and Johnna Klakamp (Eric) of Plainfield; his grandchildren, Jeremy Fisher (Sara) of Plainfield, Corey Caylor (Ashley) of Danville and Cassandra Linn (Kaylon) of Danville; his great grandchildren, Dawson George, Bodhi Fisher of Plainfield, Logan Caylor of Danville, Miles and Maisyn Linn of Danville; his siblings, Dorothy Mitchell Bruce of Terre Haute, Roy, Jr. and Carol Mitchell Butler of Linton; and his sister-in-law Mary Mitchell of Eminence.
