He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil "Tex" Helton and Dorothy June Helton (Lieske). He is survived by: his wife Ellen Helton (Moser); his children, Lindsay Helton-Whitaker (Zach) and Byron Helton; his grandchildren, Byron Helton, Jr., Alexis Helton, Stefan Whitaker, Zalyn Whitaker, Arabella Whitaker, Christian Whitaker, Adelaide Somers and Eva Somers; his children, Lindsey Somers (Liam) and Nathan Hubbard (Jean Teng); and his siblings, Diana Helton Rennels (Ken) of Danville and Dave Helton (Dee) of Danville.
