He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Gillum and Mabel Gillum (Cordrey); and his siblings, Bill (Jeri), Benjamin, Edward, Jack, David, Phyllis, Mary, Della, Shirley, Lois, Ellen and Linda.

He is survived by: his wife Madonna Gillum (Hall); his sons, Robert Gillum Jr. (Debbie) and Scott Gillum (Renee); his grandchildren, Tylor Gillum (Mary), Breanna Gillum, Taylor Gillum (Seth), Kolin Gillum, Hayden Craig and Braelyn Johnson; his great grandchildren, William Anthony Laffoon and Waylon Gillum; and his sister Martha Oliver. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
