He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Chmielewski and Clara Chmielewski (Wawrzyniak); and his sister Gladys Bierzychudek. He is survived by: his children, Edward of Los Angeles, CA, Bridget (Jeff) of Eagle Rock, CA and Timothy (Jill) of Clarendon Hills, IL; his wife Pat; his son Vernon P. of Culver, IN; and his grandchildren, Claire, Ava, Colin, Brendan and Eva.
