He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Shay and Magdelene Shay (Thyen); his sister Dolores Crabb (Robert); his mother-in-law Frances Jordan (Meredith); and his brother-in-law Evan Hippie.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hippie of Mark's Catholic Church; his children, Kevin Shay, James Shay III and Kathleen Sheely (Andy); his grandchildren, Michael, Natalie and Drew; his brother Thomas Shay (Carol); and his sister-in-law Lynne Hippie. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Calendar St. Michael Catholic Church (612 N Walnut St, Plymouth, IN 46563). A Mass was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
