He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Monroe Schemerhorn and Bonnie Mabel Schemerhorn (Waggoner); and his siblings, Daryll "Pete", Mabel Seed (Schemerhorn) and Bonnie Lou Schemerhorn.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Schemerhorn (Clark); his children, Angela Dawn Vlasic (Dave) of Valparaiso, Andrea Gay Schemerhorn of Valparaiso, Stephen Brant Schemerhorn (Brandi) of Wolcott and Amber Joy Schemerhorn of Valparaiso, Indiana; his siblings, Rex Schemerhorn (Anne), John Schemerhorn (Karen), Lovell Legg (Bill) and Tonya Pauley (Don); and his grandchildren, Alexandria Rae Schemerhorn, Tyler Stephen Smolar, Nicholas Daniel Schemerhorn, James Paul Schemerhorn and Elizabeth Kathryn Schemerhorn. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
