He was predeceased by: his wife Paula Stiener; his parents, Ervin Stiener and Irene Haehnel; his sisters, Donna Frazier and Carol Stiener; his granddaughter Alyssa Stiener; and his sister-in-law Karla Stiener.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Slosson (Craig) and Michael Stiener (Annette); his grandchildren, Lauren Slosson (Cody Anderson), Amanda Stiener (Brandon Mihal), Kaylie Flamme (Josh) and Matthew Stiener; his great grandchildren, Brennan Slosson, Lily and Emilia Flamme; his brother-in-law Cecil Frazier; and his brother Robert.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Richard's name to the Crown Point Community Schools Athletic Department.
