He is survived by: his wife Mary Lynn Koval (Lisk); his children, Doug Koval (Diane), Kathy Stepnoski (Richard), Tracy Payne (Curtis) and Karen Marchuk (Koval); his grandchildren, Morgan, Madison Stepnoski and Andrew Koval; and his brother Kenneth Koval (Jeanne). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Matthias Catholic Church (101 W Burrell Dr, Crown Point, IN 46307).
