She was predeceased by: her husband Ed McDonald; her parents, Clark Appleton and Luella Appleton; and her brother Robert Appleton. She is survived by: her children, Kevin McDonald (Christine) and Kim Johnson (Willie); her grandchildren, Laura LaHara (Jay), Amy Pekins (Matt), Kelsey Shannon (Patrick) and Brandon Johnson; her great grandchildren, Camden, Rory, Emerson and Colby; her sister Lois Lewis; and her sister-in-law Joan Meeks.
