He was predeceased by: his father Clarence; his siblings, Susan Nolte and Tony Huizenga; his nephew Benjamin Nolte; and his niece Beth Weaver.

He is survived by: his daughters, Michelle Huizenga (Mike Harkabus) of Chicago, IL, Karen Sanchez (Omar) of St. John, IN and Randi Pritchard (Peyton) of Morganton, NC; his grandsons, Adam Huizenga of Chicago, IL and Jason Huizenga; his mother Mamie Houck Huizenga; his sister Dawn Lapinne (Mike) of West Jefferson, NC; his granddaughter Leora Rose Pritchard; his nieces and nephews, Joni Weaver, Tawny Huizenga, Jake Blejski, Michael Blejski and Daulton Huizenga (Taylor); and his great-nieces, Gracelyn and Emmersyn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National MS Society, Indiana-Kentucky-Tennessee Chapter, or to the Mission Bible Church in Highland, IN.
