It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joanne De Vries in Crown Point, Indiana, born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, who passed away on January 31, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Beukema and Alice Beukema (Ouwenga); her husband Herman J. De Vries, Sr.; her siblings, William Beukema (Tess) and Marlene Brannon (Joe); her children, Herman J. De Vries, Jr. (Renée) and Laura L. Van Deel (Steven); her grandchildren, Sarah Baas (Alex), Alyssa Van Deel, Herman David De Vries, Duncan Van Keulen, Stephanie Van Deel, Corinna De Vries, Amber Van Keulen and Vincent Van Deel; and her daughter-in-law Amy Katt De Vries.
Joanne endured a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease during her final eight years, with the last four years under loving care at Wittenberg Village.
