He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine "Deanie" Pelton; his parents, Milo Pelton and Ethel Pelton; and his siblings, William Pelton, Shirley Sweney and Della Fritts.

He is survived by: his children, Tim Pelton, Skip Pelton (Tami), Tina Robinson (Tom) and Mindi Handley (Doug); his grandchildren, Jenni Culp (Lance), Brad Pelton, Jason Pelton, Clay Handley, Ty Handley and Maggie Robinson; his great grandchildren, Parker Culp, Nolan Culp and Addie Culp; his stepgrandchildren, Pete Robinson (Kim) and Jennifer Ray; and his sister Judi Kish (Tom).
