He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mako and Lois Mako. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Mako; his sons, Zach Mako (Abby) and Matt Mako; his grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Mako; his brother John Mako (Sheri); his mother-in-law Mary Mihalik (late Jim); and his sister-in-law Kathy Zerr (David). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
