He was predeceased by: his parents, John Day and Mamie Maxie (DePew); his daughter-in-law Christine Maxie; and his siblings, Burchell Maxie, Gilbert Maxie, Georgia Blair, Sadie Sturgeon, Ada Shirley and Evelyn Maxie.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Jo Weathersby of Tampico, IN. and Brian D. Maxie of Tampico, IN.; his grandchildren, Christopher Neil Schrader (Gloria), Seth R. Maxie (Ariel), Abbie E. Abel (Jered) and Toby Weathersby (Fayella); his great grandchildren, Dakota Schrader, Samuel Schrader, Jaeclyn Abel, Trinity Abel, Avery Abel, Paisley Abel, Duel Maxie, Jedidiah Maxie, Realidy Spicer, Destiny Spicer and Paul Spicer; and his sisters, Edna "Teddy" Densford of Seymour, IN, Ruth Reynolds and Ethel Benson.
