He was predeceased by: his father Norman R. Howard; and his children, Jonathan Richard Howard and Michelle D. Davis. He is survived by: his mother Mary Elizabeth Howard (Carpenter) of Madison, Indiana; his wife Donna F. Howard (Bowlin); his son Matthew Paul Howard (Nora) of Austin, Indiana; his siblings, Velma Simpson (Andrew) of Madison, Indiana and N. Leroy Howard (Stephanie) of Deputy, Indiana; his son-in-law Raymond Davis, III of Crothersville, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Aaron, Jonathan Davis, Danielle, Gunner Howard, Raymond Davis, IV and Melissa Carol Ann Jamiel.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Association c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
