He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gordon E. Butler and Amy (Kingsbury); his daughters, Shere Coomler of Crothersville, IN, Becky Butler of Crothersville, IN and Kelly Schmelzle (Dale); his grandchildren, Amy K. Schleter, Sara Salas, Eric Prewitt, Julie Lewis, Derick Lewis, Lea Ann Boicourt, Erin Burns, Jessica Mount, Laiken Howard, Paityn Kelly, Daniela Wright and Trevor Wright; and his brother Dr. Joe Butler (Caroline) of Crothersville, IN.. He was also cherished by 20 great-grandchildren.
Gordon was a member of Crothersville United Methodist Church, Lions Club, Schneck Medical Center Hospital Foundation Board, John Purdue Club, Purdue Alumni Club, served as a Crothersville Community School Trustee, and as Crothersville Town Clerk.
