He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Nieweddle and Claris Niewedde (Donohue); his stepson Charles J. Akers; and his siblings, Sonny Niewedde and Donna Hensley.
He is survived by: his wife Bernadene Niewedde (Vires); his children, Brian Keith Niewedde (Kim) of Rising Sun, Indiana and Drucilla Kay Hopkins (Gary) of Scottsburg, Indiana; his stepdaughters, Pam Akers-Campbell of Crothersville, Nena Akers-Elam (Donnie) of Scottsburg and Shelly Barrett of Keller, Texas; and his brother Donald Niewedde of Austin, Indiana. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
