He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Hankins and Lillian Shook Hankins; his brother Marvin; and his great grandchildren, Rory Nicole Hankins and Riley Alan Hankins.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Smith; his sons, Michael Hankins (Joanna) of Westfield and Mark Hankins of Canaan; and his grandchildren, Cody Hankins (Emily) of Noblesville and Bailey Hankins of Madison. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be given to the Salem Cemetery, Versailles Masonic Lodge, or Jefferson Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
