He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Sherman and Edna Sherman (Butler); his children, Dawn Sherman and Timothy Sherman; his grandsons, Neil and Richard Trammel; and his siblings, Janice Mann, Nancy Sherman, Clyde, Les, Mike, Paul and Kerry Sherman.

He is survived by: his wife Grace Sherman of Cromwell; his children, Michelle Trammel (Jack) of Syracuse, Deanna Bontrager of Millersburg, Tammy Green (Dave) of Syracuse, Allen Sherman of Cromwell and John Sherman (Holly) of Columbia City; and his siblings, Barbara Campbell of Garrett, IN, Kathy Hostetler (Jay) of Milford, Jennifer Patterson of Albion, Norm Sherman of Churubusco, Willie Sherman (Salley) of Albion and Ricky Sherman (Alicia) of Columbia City.
