With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vernon Dowell of Crawfordsville, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2025 at the age of 76. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Vernon Dowell to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Dowell and Mary Dowell; his in-laws, Norman and Norma LaFollette; his siblings, Kate Caudill, Jessie Dowell, Bobby Dowell, Barb Harris, Margaret Kidd, Christine Roberts and Elsie Carter; his son Vernon Lee; his granddaughters, ChyAnne Bridgham and Nikia Dowell; and his great grandchild Khiana Dowell.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Dowell; his children, Kenneth Dowell (Lisa), Brian Dowell (Elena), Shawn Dowell (Cari), Kristen Bridgham (Aaron), Chrissy Miller, Dustin Dowell, Tasha Jardinez (Jose), Denisha Dowell and Tiesha Dowell; and his siblings, Elmer Dowell (Debra), Elvie Dowell (Rita) and Dorothy Morhinners (Joe). He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Burkhart Funeral Home (201 W Wabash Ave, Crawfordsville, IN 47933). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
