He was predeceased by: his parents, David Earl and Charlene Sue Sams (Darding); and his brother Dennis Sams. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Lynn Amstutz; his daughters, Stephanie McKinney and Jessica Thayer (Caleb); his grandchildren, Kylee Mefford (Brody), Kasey Harwood (JonGray), Kelsea Wolf (Tanner), Drake Arnold, Mackenzie Arnold, Knox Thayer, Georgia Thayer and Bentley Thayer; his great grandchildren, Madalyn, Jameson, Ashton, Averie and Emmy; and his siblings, Gary Sams (Pam), Greg Sams (Ami) and Diana Martz (Daryl Donahue). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Steve's memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 128 E. 400 S, Crawfordsville, Indiana 47933.
