He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Smiley and Margaret Everson Smiley. He is survived by: his wife Janet Steele Smiley; his children, Jennifer Veatch (Tim) and Jason Smiley (Ashli); his granddaughter Sidney Veatch (Chelsea Veatch); his brother-in-law Wayne Steele; and his cousin Carolyn Surface Snyder.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Burkhart Funeral Home (201 W Wabash Ave, Crawfordsville, IN 47933).
