With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Lee Chastain (Crawfordsville, Indiana), born in Salem, Indiana, who passed away on August 5, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest G. Chastain and Leo I. Chastain (Stephenson); his wife B. Marlene Cowan; his siblings, Donald Chastain and Kathleen; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Oldson.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Cindy Chastain (Pete McCormick) of Crawfordsville, David Chastain of Bloomington, Jeff Chastain (Kathy) of Crawfordsville and Laura Smith (Lester) of Crawfordsville; his grandchildren, Chris Smith (Amy), Nathaniel Smith (Kayla), Jacob Smith (Katelyn), Marce'Chastain, Hunter Chastain (Carleigh) and Clay Chastain (Acaimie); his great grandchildren, Vivian, Theodore, Rowan Smith and Morgan Chastain; his sister Gloria; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Rosenbaum and Jean Chastain. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
