She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Edward and Olive Crawford (Moore); her husband W. E. "Gene" Proffitt; and her siblings, Beverly Pinkham, Donna Kinnaman and Jim Crawford.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sabrena Schmelter (Roger), Marena Jo Turner (Jerry) and Jene Anne Pendleton (Mike); her grandchildren, Olivia, Mary, Anna, Julia Schmelter, Lily and Jack Pendleton; and her brother-in-law John Proffitt (Evelyne). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the South Carolina Mission Trip.
