John left this world on December 17, 2024 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact John had on those he encountered along his journey. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosemary Childress and Don Childress. He is survived by: his children, Scott (Chie Sharp), Amy (Chell Nyquist) and Susan (Rondal Mannon); and his grandchildren, Dylan, Jack, Olivia and Charlie Mannon.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home (107 N Grant Ave, Crawfordsville, IN 47933). A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Purdue Convocations or to Friends of Scouting – Sagamore Council, honoring John's love of the arts and lifelong learning.
