He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Garrett and Mabel Elliott Garrett; and his siblings, Jerry, Victor Garrett and Joy Elizabeth.
He is survived by: his wife Lucille Garrett; his son Phillip Garrett; his grandchildren, Neil Garrett (Melissa) of Swansea, Elizabeth Kirby (Jared) of Crawfordsville and Allison Pyle (Brian) of Crawfordsville, Indiana; his great grandchildren, Leah, Callaway, Sawyer, Ava and Bryson; and his brothers, Lee and John Garrett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
