He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard George Labbe and Mary Willis Labbe; and his sister Judith. He is survived by: his former wife Marcia Goehler Nov; his wife Marcia Labbe of Crawfordsville; his children, Amy McMurry (Joseph) of Lafayette, Edward C. Labbe III, Joe Labbe of Weston and Jim Labbe (Lisa) of Perth, Australia; and his siblings, Jean Dudek (Jim) of Florida, Bernard "BeeGee" Labbe (Pat) of Ohio, Joseph Labbe of Florida and Michael Labbe of Maryland.
