He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Bruce Sims and Maude Minnie Sims; and his siblings, Phil, Roxanna and Karen.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Sims of Crawfordsville; his daughters, Kelly Chandler (Brandon) and Karly Sims (Tyler); his brother Mike Sims; and his grandchildren, Audrie, Korie, Joshua, Luke, Mason and Sophia.
