She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard "Mac" Alfonzo McFarland and Mary Bell McFarland (Hawks); her husband James D. Collins; her daughter Denita Smith-Laine; her grandson James Babbitt; and her siblings, Jessie Brady, Clarence Evans and J. D. McFarland.
She is survived by: her daughter Glynda Harris of Fort Wayne; her son-in-law Roger E. Laine of Katy, Texas; her grandchildren, Kristen Austion (Kenneth), Amy Perry (Keith) and Max Smith; her great grandchildren, Nikki Babbitt, Anthony Gillespie, Matthew Pickelheimer, Kristopher Pickelheimer, Cindy Pickelheimer, Ravante Babbitt, Andre Babbitt and Tory Portee; and her great great grandchildren, Eloise Gillespie, Aurora Gillespie, Henry Gillespie, Aubrianne Bennet and Cheyenne Bennet.
