It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Diedrich Ives of Covington, Indiana, born in Pocahontas, Iowa, who passed away on October 17, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Madeline DeFayette; his daughter Mary Margaret; and his brothers, Jim and Orville. He is survived by: his children, Julie Lemke, Gina Plapp (Rick), Daniel Ives, David Ives (Janet) and Becky Ives; his grandchildren, Caroline Mattingly (Charlie), Connor Lemke, Olivia Kyle (Kip), Audrey Plapp and Evan Plapp; his great grandchildren, Cora Olker, Anna Mattingly and Madeline Mattingly; his siblings, Gerald, Hillary, Gail, Dennis Ives and Vera Kasel; and his siblings-in-law, Bob and Helen DeFayette. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
