He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Jones and Geraldine Meredith Jones; and his son Matthew Jones. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jones (Fritsch) of Corydon, IN; his children, Shannon R. Jones (Matt Johnson) of Corydon, IN and David Cambron (Jess) of Indianapolis, IN; and his siblings, Terry Jones (Vicki) of Homewood, IL, Robert Jones (Rebecca) of Brandon, MS, Duane Jones (Jan) of Elizabeth, IN, Pam Alcorn (Zyndell) of Corydon, IN and Anita Adams (Larry) of Pittsboro, IN. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
