He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Beckman and Kenneth Beckman; his son Matthew C. Beckman; and his brother Kenny Beckman. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Beckman; his children, James Beckman (Kerry) and Eva Hunt (Michael); his siblings, Jane Mickle, Virgil Beckman and Ben Beckman; and his grandchildren, Matthew R. Beckman, Jacob Zeller, Emma Mousaw, Dillon Beckman and Abigail Beckman. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
