He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence (Ruth Baxley Scharf) and Paul; and his wife Patricia Lamon Scharf. He is survived by: his daughter Sheryl Lynn Scharf; his children-in-law, Rebecca, Bert Hodge, Elizabeth, Patrick Padgett, Amanda and John Werth; and his granddaughters, Natalie, Olivia Hodge, Ellen, Katie Werth and Julia Werth Reneau (Kevin).
Memorials are preferred to the Harrison County Community Foundation for the Paul J. Scharf Language Arts Scholarship Fund.
