He was predeceased by: his parents, Artie Herthel and Hazel Whitlow Herthel; and his sisters, Lucille Reeder and Carole Byrne. He is survived by: his wife Deborah "Debbie" Reed Herthel of Marengo, Indiana; his children, Nicholas Herthel (Carrie) of Ramsey, Indiana and Nicole Herthel-Frye (Gary) of Franklin, Indiana; his stepchildren, Steven Miller (Collen) of Shelbyville and Candice Lewis (Steve) of Seminole; his grandchildren, Tyler Herthel, Taylor Herthel, Sabrina Glendy and Justin Sung; his stepgrandchildren, Mason, Garrett, Bailey Miller and Kaylee Lewis; his stepgreat-granddaughter McKenzie Daily; and his brothers, Artie Herthel Jr. of Georgetown, Indiana. and Merle Herthel (Jackie) of Georgetown, Indiana..
