He was predeceased by: his parents, Morton Purvis and Emma Purvis (McCarty); his wife Carolyn Jeanette Purvis; and his grandson Nathan Purvis. He is survived by: his children, Frank Purvis, Delora Bess (Richard) and Teresa Purvis; his grandchildren, Derrick Purvis (Ashley Till), Tiska, Jodi, Holly, Brittany and Kara; his great grandchild Alycia Purvis; and his sisters, Bonnie C. Roberts and Virgaleen Johnson. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
