He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest LaFollette and Mary Priddy LaFollette; and his brother Jim LaFollette. He is survived by: his children, Dennis Horan of Rhode Island, Jan LaFollette of Rushville, Lori Kimble (Scott) of Centerville, Ernie LaFollette (Stacy) of Connersville and Roger LaFollette Jr. of Connersville; and his siblings, Steve LaFollette (Joann) of Connersville, Greg Schmude of Wisconsin, Kay Roberts of Connersville, Kathy Slayback (Robert) of Indianapolis, Mary Lynch (Dave) of Milan and Kim Fledderman (Jody) of Batesville. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Connersville Parks Department to cover registration fees for children who wish to play ball, but cannot afford it.
