It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joanna Gettinger (Connersville, Indiana), born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on April 21, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Marcus Benson; her brothers, Marcus Gault Jones and Benson Reid Jones; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Adam and Allison Gettinger.
She is survived by: her mother Marjorie Gault Jones; her husband Philip Neil Gettinger; her children, Mark Alan Gettinger (Debby), Melinda Sue Sudhoff (Warren), Steven Bruce Gettinger (JoEllen), Douglas Neil Gettinger (LuAnn), Philip Kevin Gettinger (Stephanie), Bradley Dean Gettinger (Terry) and Krista Jo Jones (Bruce); and her sister Priscilla Thinnes. She is also survived by her 35 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fayette County Cancer Society, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
