He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Burns and Mary James Burns; his daughter Natalie Martin; his sister Maxine Scranton; his brother-in-law Jake Moffett; and his grandson Trae Neukam.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki Bunch; his children, Jay Martin (Lisa), Byron Payton (Tammy), James P. Burns (Luann), Allen Burns, Frank Barksdale, John Evans Sr., Jeremy Hines (Glitter), Abby Day, Christal Dunaway (Denny), Autumn Burns and Aubrey Burns; and his grandson John Evans. He is also survived by many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
