She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Griffin and Betty Mae Swampson Griffin; her husband Jay Lee Alvey; her son-in-law Levi Cregar; her daughter Julia Mae Richardson; and her siblings, Alexander Griffin II, Anthony Griffin, Ronnie Griffin, Lloyd Griffin and Rosanna Ross.
She is survived by: her daughters, Paula Abrams and Crystal Richardson (Neil); her grandchildren, Julia Sorrell, Jameson Garrett, Jordan Abrams and Michelle Abrams; and her siblings, Jimmy, Warren Griffin, Lou Mansfield and Esther Smallwood. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
