He was predeceased by: his father Harlen Gabbard; his son Charles Avery Gabbard; and his sister Freda Gabbard. He is survived by: his wife Sue Wathen; his daughter Sandra Lemen; his granddaughter Averill Lemen Mains (Randall); his great grandchildren, Aubrey Mains and Aiden Mains; and his siblings, Dale Gabbard (Shirley), Agnes Faber and Emma Lee Keen (William).
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter or the Humane Society.
