He was predeceased by: his parents, Hass Burton and Goldie Heitz Burton; and his brothers, Jim and Tom Burton. He is survived by: his wife Christine E. Garner; his children, William T. Burton II of Columbus and Donna E. Whitis (Jason) of Edinburgh; his grandchildren, Megan Barnett (Nathan), Nicholas Franklin, Devon Burton, Marissa Whitis, Dylan Burton, Makayla Burton (Dakota) and Brayden Whitis; and his sisters, Shasta Smiley (Larry) of Flat Rock, Kathy Stubblefield (Kevin) of Edinburgh, Tammy Evans (Gary) of Speedwell and Jane Haddock of Franklin, Tennessee.. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
