He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William G. Harter and Helen H. Harter; his former wife Josephine H. Shortle; his children, Marjorie Pumphrey (Brett) of Littleton, Colorado, Scott Harter (Amy) of Eugene, Oregon, Jim Harter (Cathy) of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, Doug Harter (Brooke) of McCordsville, Indiana and Robert Harter (Leah) of Park City, Utah.; and his wife Jody. He was also cherished by thirteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
